Install latest/stable of SPEEDX - Internet Speed Monitor

Ubuntu 16.04 or later?

Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.


Install using the command line

sudo snap install speedx

Don't have snapd? Get set up for snaps.

IMPORTANT NOTE :#

IF APP IS NOT LAUNCHING AFTER INSTALL, THEN RUN CMD BELOW IN YOUR SHELL.**

 sudo snap remove speedx --purge && sudo snap install speedx && sudo snap refresh speedx && sudo snap install pyqt5-runtime-lite && sudo snap refresh pyqt5-runtime-lite && speedx

*FYI:* Be Patient, Sometimes Snap Applications Takes A While To Launch At First Time Installations

SPEEDX is a Best GUI looking Application for Monitoring Internet speed with System Monitor Utility.

  • Realtime Internet speed indicator (Combine upload/download speed)

NOTE #1

ubuntu-restricted-extras package allows users to install ability to play popular non-free media formats, including DVD, MP3, Quicktime, and Windows Media formats. without this you would not be able to play videos inside the app.

 sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

NOTE #2

If CPU Temp is not Coming/not accurate in the System Monitor, then run below command in your Terminal/Shell.

 sudo snap connect speedx:hardware-observe
