Ubuntu 16.04 or later?

Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.

Install using the command line

sudo snap install o3de --classic

O3DE is an open-source, cross-platform, real time 3D engine that you can use to create high performance interactive experiences

Note: This package is experimental and in active development. This has been tested with Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04. Other distros may have issues due to dependancy differences

Known issues and workarounds:

Issue: Projects created from this package depends on libraries from the snap, such as glibc and libssl.

  • Workaround: Exported standalone projects running on Ubuntu 22.04 or above will need snapd to be installed with core20 as a runtime dependency
