FLIF is a lossless image format based on MANIAC compression.
MANIAC (Meta-Adaptive Near-zero Integer Arithmetic Coding)
is a variant of CABAC (context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding),
where the contexts are nodes of decision trees which are
dynamically learned at encode time.
The packages for RHEL 8 and RHEL 7 are in each distribution’s respective Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository. The instructions for adding this repository diverge slightly between RHEL 8 and RHEL 7, which is why they’re listed separately below.
